New York, NY - August; Ellis Island, Battery Park, Wall Street, Central Park
I had the opportunity to go to New York before the fall semester; late summer vibes. It was fun seeing Staten Island, the Statue of Liberty, battery park and a variety of restaurants in Manhattan.
The hotel I stayed at was The Conrad in battery park. I had a weird dream about this park across the street; potato famine park for the Irish potato famine. Really strange. The dream was months prior and it had businessmen and women walking dogs and just random; I remember it distinctly because the park was grass with a paved path raised off the ground. It's possible I saw it on a website or on an advertisement at some point but to my knowledge I have never been to that park. It was a good second visit to the big apple!
My friend (the son of a former professor at my Alma matter Northern Michigan University) who lives in Queens gave some recommendations of food, entertainment and nightlife around the city. It included New York Mets games. Free museum's near central park (American Museum of Natural History to name one). Also an underground market in the famous hotel. I'll post the image of our conversation below so the recommendations and specific venue names are visible. I did my best to hit every recommendation including New York pizza in only a few days. The touristy stuff like the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island was all me and could be built out in a second post. In any case, check out the images below. Thanks to my friend for giving me the opportunity to see New York again!
