Barkkus Adventure Sunday Mardi Gras New Orleans!

Image
Took a friend to the Barkkus Parade on Sunday in the French Quarter. Posting a view pics that were taken on her Nikon camera. Mostly the crowd and atmosphere, no dog pics! A quick reminder: The traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold were not chosen arbitrarily. Rex, the King of Carnival, selected this scheme in 1892, declaring purple for justice, green for faith and gold for power.

Atlanta, GA - Roadtrip! Tourist info. Aquarium, Football hall of fame, World of Coke, CNN Center

Decided last minute, Sunday to take a road trip to Atlanta. Country inn and Suites. Uber to get downtown. Stayed at the Country Inn and Suites near the Brave's baseball stadium, Turner field. It is close to downtown and about a $5.75 Uber Ride. It's approximately 3 miles and is under $100 per night. I could have booked cheaper but this was a happy medium. World of Coke - experience . Country coke flavors. On Martin Luther King day I visisted a number of places; starting with the World of Coke. The tour was mostly self serve with a brief video and introduction. The cost was $16. I was solo but being with other visitors made it less lonely. The highlight of this was getting to try Coke flavors from all over the world! WORLD OF COKE CNN Center, Lunch. After the World of Coke I visited a food court in the CNN center. This is walking distance from the World of Coke. I ate at Moe's southwest grill. Lunch was $6. Aquarium I visited the Aquarium after heading b...

Audobon Zoo New Orleans!

Image
Took a visit on Tuesday to the Audobon Zoo in New Orleans. I went with a friend from LSU. We got free tickets thanks to a good connection! It was a nice break from studying and school and a good way to get in gear for the spring semester. We saw a lot of animals including many more that aren't pictured below. I would recommend going to the zoo and seeing the giant elephants or the Komodo Dragon!

Fort Pike, New Orleans.

Sitting in the comfortable char in my living room. Decided to do some typing on the new machine I bought for the new year. I decided on an ASUS laptop which seems comfortable enough to spend time on it coding and working on research for school. I decided on a gaming computer even though I really don't play any games, other than call of duty for Playstation. It's January in New Orleans; I like to freewrite, get over it. I'd like to start working on some coding and possibly break out a second bog dedicated to investment research. That's probably a good place to start if I want people to actually look at this thing. In anycase, I went to a civil war fort that was later used to train soldiers in World War I last weekend. It was an hour drive from NOLA. The town reminded me a bit of Upper Michigan, minus the visible sand in January. We got to a small house converted in to a gas station with bar attached. In the middle of the afternoon one could only expect a few regulars at ...
