Atlanta, GA - Roadtrip! Tourist info. Aquarium, Football hall of fame, World of Coke, CNN Center
Decided last minute, Sunday to take a road trip to Atlanta.
Country inn and Suites. Uber to get downtown.
Stayed at the Country Inn and Suites near the Brave's baseball stadium, Turner field. It is close to downtown and about a $5.75 Uber Ride. It's approximately 3 miles and is under $100 per night. I could have booked cheaper but this was a happy medium.
World of Coke - experience. Country coke flavors.
On Martin Luther King day I visisted a number of places; starting with the World of Coke. The tour was mostly self serve with a brief video and introduction. The cost was $16. I was solo but being with other visitors made it less lonely. The highlight of this was getting to try Coke flavors from all over the world!
WORLD OF COKE

CNN Center, Lunch.
After the World of Coke I visited a food court in the CNN center. This is walking distance from the World of Coke. I ate at Moe's southwest grill. Lunch was $6.
Aquarium
I visited the Aquarium after heading back to my hotel and taking a nap. It was very informational and had a nice dolphin training show. The aquarium had a research feel and seemed more dedicated to understanding (studying) and preserving ocean and aquatic life.
AQUARIUM

Weston tower, city view. Free!
After the aquarium I wanted to venture out and didn't have much of an idea for what to do! I had read a quick guide and heard of the Westin tower. I decided to check out the city view! This was free but normally for non-hotel guests there is an $8 charge.
WESTIN TOWER

Dunkin Doughnuts, travel talk.
I ran in to a slight dilemma from taking a lot of photos and snap chats. I ran out of cell phone power and did not bring my charging port (dumb!). I went to a Dunkin Doughnuts to get something to eat and met some fellow travelers waiting for the Mega Bus. I asked to use one of their iPhone 6 chargers and was back in business. I think it's called a lightning cable. Anyway, I learned that the Mega Bus sells fares online and offers a reduced fare based on position of purchase. That is, once tickets are on sale the first person to purchase gets the tickets for $1! After that the next person pays $3 and so on. I would imagine that the 3rd or 4th would pay $5-$6. This is interesting. I further got the idea from a traveler that if you wanted you could look out as tickets become available on the mega bus website and buy Friday bus trips from New Orleans to Atlanta, with a return flight on Sunday for $1 each (if timed properly). When the time came to take the trip I could cancel and be out $2 or take the trip. Sounds like a good way to visit new states on a budget! I showed him the Kayak explore app and we found flights from Atlanta to Denver for $48 in February for a 4 day trip. Pretty cool! He further informed me of his plan to visit all 50 states in the first 8 months of the year. I thought that was pretty neat.
1. megabus - $1 fares
2. flights from kayak.com
CNN Center - tour
Tuesday I decided to check out the CNN center again and go on the tour. It wasn't very exciting to be honest but I'm not a huge news person. I thought the news room with all of the computers looked like a trading floor. I learned a little about the CNN connect options via their social media pages and found out that they have a multitude of networks that broadcast in South America. They also have all of their news routed through their Atlanta hub. Pretty cool!
CNN CENTER

NCAA Football Hall of Fame
Wandered in to the NCAA Football hall of fame from the CNN center. Student ticket was $19.
